Lindt Chocolate
When Rudolf Sprüngli-Ammann retired from commerce in 1892, he divided the business between his two sons. The elder brother, Johann Rudolf Sprüngli-Schifferli, received the chocolate factory from his father. He found a suitable plot of land in Kilchberg, and built a new factory there in 1899. At the same time he was offered the option of acquiring the small but famous chocolate factory of Rodolphe Lindt in Berne. Where else would they use a composer's picture for a candy! Or for that matter, his wife's? Try Mozart or Constanze chocolate balls for a real treat!

Nestle's
In the mid-1860s Henri Nestlé, a trained Swiss pharmacist, began experimenting with various combinations of cow's milk, wheat flour and sugar in an attempt to develop an alternative source of infant nutrition for mothers who were unable to breastfeed. His ultimate goal was to help combat the problem of infant mortality due to malnutrition. He called the new product Farine Lactée Henri Nestlé. Hershey's
The world was made a better place when Milton Hershey founded the Hershey Chocolate Company in 1894. In his Hershey, PA, town the street lights are shaped like Hershey kisses and you can even tour a miniature factory to see how they make Kisses, Mr. Goodbars, Kit Kat bars, and Cocoa! This site has lots of recipes and contests to enter. It's best to have a good lunch before visiting Hershey, but save room for dessert!
