The Best Unschooling Resources on the Web
Unschooling can be a lonely life. Even other homeschoolers don't always understand what you are doing. It's hard to trust your decision to unschool and your child's ability to learn what s/he needs to know when everyone is telling you it will never work. But rest assured, you are not alone!

Check out the links below to find some great information about unschooling, some tools to help you help your children, and some like-minded families. Also, be sure to sign up for my weekly ezine to get even more helpful information.

Unschooling.com
This is the best site to visit if you are just starting out. It has everything from book recommendations to tools that real unschooling families use, to a comprehensive listing of state schooling laws, with local interpretation help where available. The message boards are a great help as well -- other families who are really living the unschooling lifestyle are a limitless resource!

Natural Math
Math -- everyone is afraid of it, right? But you don't have to be. Math is a fascinating, useful subject, and when you approach it with that attitude, it can even be fun! This page is an excellent resource for anyone who wants to make math fun, and it also has some terrific explanations of the unschooling philosophy. See the page on Student Rights, the second link under the heading Favorite Pages, for a short, easy-to-understand list of "rules" for unschoolers.

EasyHomeschool
This is a relatively new site, but it's already a great resource. The articles are great, the links to Cool Facts of the Day and This Day in History are fun, and the site is updated regularly. The focus is on providing inexpensive and free curriculum to homeschoolers -- and they also remember to keep it fun.

Unschooling Forums/Discussion Groups

Unschooling without Breaking the Bank
This discussion group is focused on creative ideas to help your children learn without spending a lot of money. I mean, sure, going to Paris for a year will teach your kids French, but it's a little unrealistic. ;-) This group is also a great place for support -- really nice people!
