Learn Your ABC's
We've made teaching your preschooler the ABC's E-Z! Follow these sites to help your child learn letter recognition, letter order, writing and spelling.

Remember repetition is key! Watch your child's cues to know when to do a different type of activity, whether it be a different site within the ABC's or a completely different medium... Like ABC blocks, or coloring or running outside! And don't forget to sign up for my zine to receive new weekly sites to visit, hip ideas... and more!

Beginner: ABC Poems
These poems were designed to help children learn the upper and lower case letters of the alphabet. This site cleverly uses visual and auditory cues that help children "memorize" and allows you to read to your child, show them upper and lower cases and pictures to aid in their recall.

Advanced: ABC Worksheets
Level One: Printable worksheets. Start with letting your child trace shapes, then progress to letters - upper and lower. This site includes ideas for use. We like it because you can print them out and use them for "busy times"... like at restaurants. (Note: Scroll down until your see "Practice Sheets," then let little "Johnny" click on the letters to bring up the worksheets and print them out... Have fun!)

Free Personalized Online Books
A story club for children, featuring gentle stories starring your child and his or her relatives and friends. Each story in the BookHugs library is designed to help your child appreciate the value of patience, orderliness, love of nature, family, sharing, safety, etc.

Interactive ABC's
Let your child take control of the mouse and learn upper and lower cases. This page illustrates a picture (why not ask your child to "say" the picture), says the letter and animates the partner letters. If you like this one, here's another page which shows ABC ORDER and asks your child to select the correct answer! (* Please note these pages use Shockwave. Fun with the Alphabet!
A FIVE-STAR SITE!! Here your busy-minded preschooler will learn the sounds the letters make and how to write each one. You'll also find fun activities, coloring sheets, as well as crafty projects and recipes for each letter. *Recommendation: Spend a week or so on each letter.
