Summary of Medical Malpractice Law by State
Unlike the practice of medicine in which there is a "national standard of practice," malpractice law is very state specific.

Example: In general, states limit the time you have to bring a medical malpractice lawsuit - called Statute of Limitations. Failure to commence appropriate action on time can cost a medical malpractice plaintiff "big time," - the action will then be "totally time barred," and no money recovery will be possible. And if the client was not appropriately counseled, may lead to a legal malpractice suit against the plaintiff's lawyer!
