The Purple Crayon
Harold Underdown is a real live breathing children's book editor -- y'know, those merciless gatekeepers who stand between children's writers and their dreams of fame and glory. Actually, he's quite nice (as are the vast majority of his colleagues) and he proves it by taking the time to educate children's writers from an important perspective -- that of the publishing professional who decides whether to issue a contract or a rejection letter. You'll find plenty of useful articles, the latest industry news and carefully selected links of interest.

Your guide's Own Site
One of the web's best-known children's writing sites is loaded with free goodies: articles, e-books, special reports and lots more -- all for the aspiring children's writer. There's also a very lively message board where kids' writers critique each others' work, hash out the day's issues and have often hilarious exchanges. Write4Kids.com is a welcoming and rewarding outpost for writers. (A note: your humble guide is also the evil genius behind Write4Kids.com, so maybe I'm a bit biased. Why not see for yourself?)
