Our Favorite The World of Comics Websites

OK, you can see I've been a fan of comic books since I was knee-high to Andy Capp. And I know you love this guilty pleasure, too.

So, just for you, I've found the super secret pages of the big comic strip syndicators -- the one where they list ALL their strips, so buyers can view their entire portfolio. This way, you won't have to bookmark dozens of your favorite strips' pages -- just come here and read and laugh to your heart's content!

United Media
What a treasure trove! Over 60 of your favorite comic strips. I found the site map that lists them all, including the editorial cartoons they carry. Everything from Alley Oop to Ziggy, including Dilbert for those of us in cubicles, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (did you know they were still around?) for the kids. Lots more... look!

King Features
Home of Dennis the Menace and Spiderman. These guys are among the oldest in the business, so you'll find the classic cartoons here as well as fresh, new content.

If you haven't seen Prince Valiant, Popeye, Flash Gordon, or Hazel for years... don't despair! They're alive and well in King-Land.

Tribune Media
I guess this is part of the old Herald Tribune dynasty. While they've only got about 25 strips in their stable, they do have some of the funniest -- like Broom-Hilda, Mother Goose and Grimm -- and the oldest, like Dick Tracy and Brenda Starr, the reporter. I remember thinking she was so exciting when I was a teen. Here, you can also keep up with 'Herb and Jamaal' as well as Annie, one of the oldest of them all!

Ucomics
A site from the Universal Press Syndicate, home of some of the hottest strips -- Garfield, Calvin & Hobbes (ask me to tell you a story about this some time!), Doonesbury and Crankshaft... These folks are smart, though. Once they get you here, there are games and other diversions, and they encourage you to send comics to your friends, too. (This one is designed for the public, unlike the ones above.)

The World of Comics Forums/Discussion Groups
Comics are very popular with collectors... and being so easy to read, so many people do. What a concept! But you don't want me to bore you with the ordinary groups, do you? I'll find you the interesting forums to stretch your imagination.
BugPowder
Coming out of England, Pete Ashton provides a more international flavor to your cartoon experiences. In describing his site, Pete comments, "BugPowder is divided into a few loose areas which refuse to stay in their correct categories." This is a great place to find esoteric strips and new talent, to indulge your collectors' habits, buy things, and exchange ideas and opinions with others of your ilk. As with all good sites, they also have a mailing list or two covering various comic topics.
