Websites for Jazz Musicians Working in NYC
NYC Jazz Musicians has found the best, most favorite sites for information about jazz in New York.
Art Attack!
Self-described as "The newsletter for & about liberation musicians in NYC."

While Art Attack! is not the most organized site, there is a wealth of information for the artist living in New York City. Resources for musicians include grants, funding, housing, legal, medical, scholarships, health care, listings of concerts and special events for music lovers.

The editor, Margaret Davis, is not afraid of sharing her opinion of various establishments in the city, in particular the Knitting Factory and WBGO-FM. Her criticism is well-founded and I admire her sincerity.

Ms. Davis' extensive listing of ongoing and upcoming jazz events is excellent - there was even a show listed that was not advertised in any of the papers.

I attended this "secret" Gary Bartz concert in a remote cafe in Brooklyn and it has been the best performance I've heard in the last month. Thanks to Art Attack! for the heads up!
