Our Favorite Classic Movies Websites
Classic Movies mean a lot of things to a lot of people. From the Silent Era to the Golden Age of the Hollywood Studio system and beyond, people have been making magic with movie cameras and we have been watching...

Whether your passion is for Buster Keaton or Boris Karlov, Shirley Temple or Spencer Tracy, Clara Bow or Charles Boyer, this is the place for you. So bring your popcorn on over to the computer, and let's get surfing!.

Internet Movie Database
We've all had that moment. You know, the "I just saw a great movie starring Cary Grant and... um... what WAS her name?" moment. Do I have the website for you! Let me be clear: this website is not exclusively devoted to classic movies. BUT, if you're looking for the ultimate movie database, this is the place to go. Never be caught searching for that elusive name again. And if you want to keep track of your favorite flicks, click on the "My Movies" tab and keep your own personal database online!

Turner Classic Movies
You don't have to have cable to enjoy this website. Turner has a superb collection of films in their vault, and there's a wealth of information on that collection right here online.

Taking a break? Click on the "Movie Games" link on the left-hand side. Your guide's score? A measly 2 out of 5 in the Trivia Game. The "Star of the Month" article (this month: James Garner) is always worth a read as well.

American Film Institute
Say what you will about their Top 100 Greatest American Movies list (your guide would like to shuffle the deck a bit, not to mention include more Silents), these are the people who are greatly responsible for keeping your favorite movies from literally fading away. And their website isn't so shabby, either. Go to "Showcase" to find the list of 100 and judge for yourself.

Classic Movies Forums/Discussion Groups

Classic Movies Discussion Group
This is a restricted discussion group. You must write a request, including a bio, to the group's leader in order to be included on the list. If you are looking for other classic movie fans, it's well worth the application. You will find free form discussion as well as weekly trivia quizzes and polls. A nice group!
